Hi. Thanks for stopping by.
I am very new at blogging. I imagine I will learn as I go but I've been told by seasoned bloggers to keep it short and sweet....or...don't put too much words.
It seems we all have short attention spans these days so I will keep to those words of wisdom. Thank you Dustin.
So for those of you who know me, just stand in the back and let others get a look.
I am Teri. I am from southwestern Ontario but I have family connections in British Columbia. I moved back and forth several times before finally deciding to move here for good in 2003. I live in a small community in the Kootenay region of British Columbia. It is one of the most gorgeous places I have ever lived and we all know I've lived in a lot of places. We will save those stories for future blogs though.
The reason I chose to start a blog is I was told it is the best way for people to safely get to know me and make a decision about coming to me for counselling. I also have a Facebook page that will carry similar content as this blog. For the most part, this blog will be used discuss mental health issues and all related topics. I am a mental health counsellor. That is to say I have earned the degree...Masters of Education--Counselling...and am stepping out here to let people get to know me and my counselling style, and the mental health topics that are important to all of us.
I have lived with depression and anxiety most of my life and I don't mind being open about the symptoms, the crazy stuff that goes through my mind, my struggles, my challenges and my accomplishments and achievements. Hopefully through this blog someone out there who isn't feeling up to it today, finds a little ray of hope here, or learns a new skill here or recognizes through my writing that they are not alone in the way they feel.
So thats it for today. Short and sweet. Thank you for reading and I hope you'll stay with me as I explore with you, how we can live our most authentic and best life possible.
